A very intense program involved some of the leading constructive journalism experts in Beijing at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) forum, entitled “Constructive journalism: theory and practice” (here is the full program) and held last 9th and 10th of November in the Chinese capital.
During the two days of the conference (mentioned in a previous article), some international guests took part, as well as the academic world of the most important Chinese universities. The forum was sponsored by the Presidium of CASS Academic Divisions and organized by the CASS Institute of Journalism and Communication and the Suzhou Broadcasting System television network. Among the speaker, Karen McIntyre, Assistant Professor of Virginia Commonwealth University (USA), for being one of the first researchers to have published her academic research on constructive journalism, Nico Drok, Professor of Media & Civil Society at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and President of the European Journalism Training Association, Silvio Malvolti, founder and president of the Italian Constructive Journalism Association, An Nguyen, Associate Professor and Director of the Center for the Study of Journalism, Culture and Community, Bournemouth University (UK), Steve Robert Gunn, Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Levi Obonyo, Associate Professor of Day Star University (Kenya), and several professors from the main Chinese universities and many Chinese broadcasters.

The exchange of ideas between the speakers allowed the creation of new opportunities for collaboration in the academic world and beyond. The representatives of the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy will be guests in Italy in 2020 for future initiatives.
